Specialty
The ACFD, CDRAF and NDEB are completing negotiations that will result in the continued administration of the DSCKE after 2012. While details of the administration have not been finalized, new applications for participation in the DSCKE are now being accepted.
If you have questions regarding the DSCKE please contact the ACFD office at 613-237-6505 or via e-mail at director@acfd.ca.
Graduates of eligible non-accredited
dental specialty programs who are interested in becoming licensed
specialists in Canada may apply to take the Dental Specialty Core
Knowledge Examination (DSCKE). The DSCKE will be used by Canadian
Faculties of dentistry as part of the admission process for entry
into Dental Specialty Assessment and Training Programs (DSATPs). Please note that there is very limited space available in the DSATPs. A candidate has the privilege of retaking the Dental Specialty Core Knowledge Examination once.
Self-evaluation
checklists for each specialty have been developed as a guide to assist potential applicants in evaluating whether or not their specialty training meets basic criteria for admission. For more detailed information about the curriculum content, competencies, objectives and outcomes, evaluation methodology and teaching methods, amongst many other requirements, of accredited Canadian specialty programs consult the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada’s website:
